The WGAHK 2015 Scholarship is worth HK$20,000 (fully sponsored by WGAHK). The scholarship is an one-off award to be deducted from the winner��s academic fees for the first year of their studies at The University of Warwick in the academic year 2015/16.

We received overwhelming support for the WGAHK scholarship this year with over 30 applications. Members of the screening panel met on 29th August 2015 to conduct screening of applications for the panel interview. The screening panel consisted of ten members who are Warwick graduates from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, namely Steven Lo, Henry Wong, Ken Or, Shirley Chau, Elaine Hung, Quiny Chan, Vivian Yeung, Tony Lai, Ian Or and Kevin Lo.

The scholarship award presentation took place at the annual freshers�� dinner organised by the Warwick Hong Kong Public Affairs and Social Service Society on 14 th September 2015. Each of the short-listed candidates was invited to the event and was awarded a certified letter issued by WGAHK as well as a HK$500 book voucher as a token of encouragement for their achievements.

Founded in 2001, the WGAHK Scholarship Fund marks its 14 th Anniversary in 2015. It is the first Warwick scholarship established by local alumni associtions outside the U.K. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all donors who have contributed to the establishment of this meaningful scholarship, and to all WGAHK executive members and scholars who have assisted in the successful running of this year��s exercise.

Warwick Graduates�� Association (Hong Kong) (WGAHK) announces that WGAHK Scholarship valued at HK$30,000 will be awarded to a candidate who meets the following criteria:

�P Has accepted an offer to an undergraduate program in any subject area at the University of Warwick for the academic year 2016/2017

�P Is a new entrant to the University of Warwick (Continuing students are not eligible to apply)

�P Is a permanent resident of the Hong Kong SAR

�P Note: WGAHK Scholarship is open to candidates of ALL subject areas.

In order to be considered for the WGAHK Scholarship a candidate must:

�P Have submitted an application to a Warwick undergraduate program and received an offer (conditional or unconditional). Candidates holding conditional offers should demonstrate that all the conditions have been fully fulfilled as at the date of application.

�P Sign and return a completed WGAHK 2016 Scholarship Application Form before the deadline.

�P Submit a reference by a former or current tutor/employer (Section B of Application Form).

Candidates will be evaluated based on aspects that include:

�P Academic Credentials (as a guideline, the following standard is expected (but not absolute) from different qualifications):

A-level. 26 points (A=10, B=8, C=6 pts etc) International Baccalaureate. 36 points

Diploma of Secondary Education (Hong Kong). Level 5 in three electives or equivalent

Foundation course. All academic subjects passed with distinction

Higher Diploma. Passed with distinction Bachelor degree. Upper Second class honours

�P Extra-curricular activities & achievements e.g. sports, music, public speaking, art, drama

�P Contributions to the society e.g. voluntary work, social services, etc.

�P Personal qualities

The closing date for application for the scholarship will be 26 th AUGUST2016 (date as shown on the email upon receipt). Late submissions will NOT be considered.

The WGAHK Scholarship Selection Committee will shortlist candidates based on the above aspects. Short-listed candidates will be invited to attend a panel interview to be held on 3 rd September 2016 at the University of Warwick (Hong Kong Office) (to be confirmed).

The scholarship will be deducted from the successful candidate��s academic fees for the first year of study at the University of Warwick. WGAHK will contact the Warwick Academic Office for enrollment verification of the scholarship winner upon which the award will be sent directly to the Office of Student Accounts. If the original scholarship winner fails to register at Warwick or in any event deregistered from Warwick within the academic year, WGAHK may award the scholarship to another candidate.
